African Print

Part of my heritage is from Ghana and the traditional wear there is hand-dyed, hand-woven and hand-sewn by professional seamstresses.

The effect makes for some beautiful tailoring if sown well and its still worn modern times for a variety of events. However the younger generation has taken a spin on things and have incorporated modern style with traditional wear for a bold fashion statement.

Here are some designs by ReneeQ she has a page which Ive linked if you want to see more of her work

I haven't had a chance to visit her store but my mum went and brought me back a top from there. Sorry the picture I took doesn't show it off very well but Il update with a full picture when I have the
chance.

And just because I love this outfit so much this is an example of a custom made outfit fitted by taking the measurements and giving the seamstress the cloth in you want to make it with

There are many stores in Ghana such as Woodin where you can purchase fabrics and cloth to get made made in the style you want. Remember communication is paramount to a good finished product

Here are some examples of modern African wear
